March Fair approaching established status

Two years after its debut, the March edition of Asia's Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair (AFJ) is becoming more established and recognised on the scene. Celine Lau, director of jewellery fairs, revealed that despite the bad economic setback, March AFJ 2009 still attained satisfactory results. The business mood appears to be improving now, and the organiser is optimistic about the upcoming March Fair.

At the moment, the Fair organiser sees much potential in the accessories and fashion jewellery materials sections, and plans to strengthen them in both scale and scope. Since East European buyers are fond of products from China and other Asian countries, in terms of their price and design, Ms Lau expects the numbers of buyers from these countries to grow in line with Eastern Europe's fashion retail markets. Therefore, increased participation from European countries is one of the aims for the next March AFJ.

Like other international fairs, UBM Asia's fashion jewellery shows have introduced various features to inspire exhibitors and buyers regarding industry trend insights, such as the design competition that aims to nurture design talents, the showcase platform by CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements and the "Go Green" eco-friendly programme launched by Cebu Fame. AFJ fairs, including the March Fair, are fully supportive of activities enriching the overall style sense of industry members.

The March Fair will take place from 3 to 6 March 2010 at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, showcasing a variety of fashion jewellery and accessories products and materials.
